In the trailer, Mark (Adam Scott), Helly (Britt Lower), Irv (John Turturro), and Dylan (Zach Cherry) are back at Lumon, where they have apparently become known as the faces of "severance reform," according to Milchick (Tramell Tillman). However, Mark remains dissatisfied and continues to search for answers about what is really going on at Lumon.
The trailer also reveals more about the scope of season two than the mood-setting teaser released in October. The four colleagues are still unsure of what they saw when their Innies broke out - "It's not our world up there, Irv notes - but Mark in particular is driven to find out, especially as it relates to his colleague and, in the Outie world, woman, Miss Casey/Gemma (Dichen Lachmann).
Apple describes season two this way: "Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of playing with the dividing wall, which leads them further down a path of misery."
Season two of Severance airs on Friday, January 17, 32 months after the end of the first season in April 2022. In addition to Scott, Lower, Turturro, Cherry and Tillman, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette returning for season two. Sarah Bock and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson join the cast.
