Tyler Perry's She the People Gets Premiere Date From Netflix, Will Be Released in Two Parts

Tyler Perry's sitcom for the streamer, She the People, will launch in two parts, the streamer announced today. The series stars Terri J. Vaughn (pictured) as Antoinette Dunkerson, a candidate for lieutenant governor. She runs a successful campaign and then must figure out how to thrive under a sexist and condescending governor and keep her family in line under the spotlight. It also stars Jade Novah, Drew Olivia Tillman, Tré Boyd, Dyon Brooks and Jo Marie Payton.

The series was first announced in January as part of Perry’s 2025 Netflix slate. Also coming soon is Madea’s Destination Wedding , a feature film following 2022’s A Madea Homecoming , the drama Straw , and the faith-based feature R&B . Part two of the first season of the drama Beauty in Black premiered on March 6.

Part one of eight episodes will be released on Thursday, May 22, with part two, also eight episodes, following on Thursday, August 14.
