Shooter - Season 3
The episodes of Shooter season 3 were made available one by one on Netflix, with one new episode each week. Normally I've got no issues with that, but for some reason I constantly had to watch the recap of the previous episode. Usually that's not good....

Shooter is based on the 2007 film of the same name, but that story is more or less part of the first season. I actually enjoyed watching that season. The same applies to the second, but the third on the other hand.... It's a typical American show that follows the same formula for too long. Same old, same old. Main character Bob Lee constantly finds himself in trouble, is constantly trying to protect his family (even though he's never with them) and he has his own little 'missions' on the side.
In this season the story about his father's murder progresses. We also learn more about the secret organization known as Atlas. His 'friends' help him out and it appears as if everything is connected. His urge to face danger and his need to complete missions get in the way of his marriage and family life. This is displayed quite a bit more, which does make you sympathize with his wife and it makes it easier to understand exactly what Bob Lee is doing.
Apart from that, there's not much story to it. Some scenes are okay, mainly due to the occasional gunfights and explosions. It almost makes you think that the show is heading in the right direction once again. But after one episode it turns out that we've come full circle once more. At the end of this season I was reasonably happy that I had finally watched it all. The feeling of 'I made it' is overwhelming. A meagre 6.5, as it had a couple of decent scenes.

About the writer, Karzal

Mike (1995) has been a member of MySeries since 2016 and is mainly active on the English version of the site. Since 2018, he has been actively translating news articles, columns, reviews and basically everything that ends up on the Dutch site. The original articles, columns and reviews were actually written by others. During the week Mike can be found at IKEA, where he is a national systems specialist and occasionally also in the classroom to teach an English lesson. In addition, Mike logically enjoys watching series and has actually been spoon-fed this from an early age. The genre doesn't matter, there is a place for everything in the otherwise busy life.
