Somebody Somewhere adds Ólafur Darri Ólaffson to the cast

A new face emerges in Manhattan, Kansas: Ólafur Darri Ólafsson is part of the cast of season three of Somebody Somewhere on HBO.
Somebody Somewhere follows Sam, a true Kansan on the surface, but underneath she struggles to fit into the style of her hometown. As she struggles with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam's saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don't belong but don't give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice is possible. Everywhere. Somewhere. In season three we see growth against all odds.

The season three cast includes Jeff Hiller, Mary Catherine Garrison, Murray Hill, Tim Bagley, Jennifer Mudge, Mercedes White and Meighan Gerachis.

Ólafsson (pictured) will have a recurring role as Iceland, the new tenant of Sam's (Bridget Everett) family farm. Production on the seven-part season recently wrapped in Chicagoland.

Somebody Somewhere was created and produced by Hannah Bos, Paul Thureen, Everett, Carolyn Strauss (for Mighty Mint), Jay Duplass, Mark Duplass and Mel Eslyn (for Duplass Brothers Productions) and Tyler Romary. It is produced by Shuli Harel.

Season three was written by Bos, Thureen, Everett, Lisa Kron and Lennon Parham, and directed by Jay Duplass, Robert Cohen and Lennon Parham.

Ólaffson is known for the Icelandic series Ófærd/Trapped in which he played the leading role. The series can be streamed on Netflix. He has also appeared on AMC's NOS4A2, HBO Max/BBC/Stan's The Tourist and was the narrator of BBC/Amazon Freevee's Boat Story. He will also appear in the second season of Apple's Severance.
