Star Trek: Strange New Worlds introduces cast

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds teaser reveals which 'original' characters will return.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has revealed which original franchise characters will return and which new characters will join the group.

In a new promo clip that aired during Star Trek Day, the previously announced cast members can be seen in costume as the roles they portray are confirmed. The revelations include Celia Rose Gooding, who will portray Nyota Uhura, Jess Bush will portray nurse Christine Chapel, Babs Olusanmokun portrays Dr M'Benga, Christina Chong will portray La'an Noonien-Singh, Melissa Navia will portray lieutenant Erica Ortegas and the newly announced Bruce Horak will portray Hemmer.

Ethan Peck, Anson Mount and Rebecca Romijn will also return to portray the same characters they portrayed in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery. They will respectively portray Spock, Christopher Pike and Number One.

The new Paramount+ series is based on the years that Captain Christopher Pike was in charge of the USS Enterprise, which is nearly up until the era of Captain Kirk in Star Trek.
