Stranger Things pays tribute to the classic films of the '80s that captivated an entire generation. This thriller-drama is set in the seemingly normal town of Hawkins, Indiana. When a boy mysteriously disappears, friends and family search for answers and are drawn into dangerous events with sometimes fatal consequences.
Beneath the surface of their everyday lives lies a supernatural mystery, full of secret government experiments and a dangerous portal to a powerful, dark empire. Friendships are tested, lives are changed forever, and Hawkins — along with the rest of the world — will never be the same.
Created by The Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things debuted on Netflix in July 2016 and quickly became one of the most popular series ever. With more than 140.7 million global views for its fourth season, the series brought a nostalgic revival of countless '80s classics, from Eggo waffles to the rediscovery of Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill. The series has won more than 70 awards worldwide, including Emmys and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
Fans have declared November 6 as International Stranger Things Day, the day Will Byers disappeared in Hawkins, Indiana in 1983. Long after the town gave up the search, his friends continued to search and discovered a mysterious girl known only as a number: Eleven. She was alone, chased and had enormous powers. Eleven would do anything to help them find their friend.
Stranger Things season five will be available worldwide on Netflix in 2025.
