Stranger Things - Season 5 (part 2)

This is the end. In a two-hour finale, Stranger Things concludes the nearly decade-long battle against doom.
Fans have eagerly anticipated this. Everyone hopes for a worthy ending to the series. Whether it is, is for everyone to judge for themselves.

For four and a half seasons, we have watched Dustin, Mike, Will, Lucas, Eleven, and their friends and family grow up while fighting for their lives. They have saved Hawking, the world, and each other, but Vecna has still not been defeated. Unfortunately, he seems stronger than ever now that he can position all his pawns.

Our friends face an almost impossible task to stop Vecna once and for all. As if that challenge isn't hard enough, they are also fighting another enemy. Major General Dr. Kay is doing everything possible to get Eleven back. Her megalomaniac ambitions seem only to bring the end of the whole world closer, yet she doesn't seem to realize it.

As long as both enemies are not defeated, no one will be safe. The stakes are higher than ever, and time is running out. The final battle of El and her friends will cost blood, sweat, and tears.

The final battle of El and her friends will cost blood, sweat, and tears.

The finale of Stranger Things is a blast worthy of the series. Turning it on and binge-watching in one go is a must. Every long-time fan will enjoy this. Intense action, friendship, emotion, tension, and maybe, just maybe, some relaxation; it's all in there. Saying more would be a spoiler.

One last remark. I hope other filmmakers and series makers have paid close attention. This is how you tell a story with respect for the viewers. Recognizable references to pop culture, but also relatable feelings about friendship and the journey to adulthood.

We will probably have to wait a long time before we see another series of this caliber.

The characters became our friends. We watched them grow up, sometimes struggling with their feelings. They fought a battle they were far too young or inexperienced for, but at the same time, one that almost no one else could have fought. They secretly dreamed of their future, without knowing if they would ever get to experience it.

Stranger Things had it all. We will probably have to wait a long time before we see another series of this caliber.

About the writer, Karzal

Karzal
Mike (1995) has been a member of MySeries since 2016 and is mainly active on the English version of the site. Since 2018, he has been actively translating news articles, columns, reviews and basically everything that ends up on the Dutch site. The original articles, columns and reviews were actually written by others. During the week Mike can be found at IKEA, where he is a national systems specialist and occasionally also in the classroom to teach an English lesson. In addition, Mike logically enjoys watching series and has actually been spoon-fed this from an early age. The genre doesn't matter, there is a place for everything in the otherwise busy life.
