Styx is a prestige series based on Bavo Dhooge's orderer with international ambitions and Ostend as a beautiful backdrop. Styx will premiere on February 1 at the Ostend Film Festival and will be shown exclusively on Streamz in the spring.
In Styx, Sebastien Dewaele (Eigen Kweek) plays police officer Raphaël Styx. He is corrupt, his wife Isabelle has filed for divorce and his children are estranged from him. One night he surprises a masked murderer on the pier of Ostend who strangles a man. He chases the perpetrator, but the killer pulls a gun and shoots Styx. When the sun rises again over the chilly North Sea, Styx's body washes up on the beach. Is he still alive? He opens his eyes, but he no longer feels a pulse. And the bullet wounds in his chest prove he wasn't dreaming. Who is his killer? And what is the price he has to pay for this second chance?
The series has an impressive ensemble cast consisting of well-known actors and emerging talents. In the leading roles we find Sebastien Dewaele (Eigen Kweek), Koen De Bouw (Alter Ego (2023)), Werner Kolf (Commandos), Loes Haverkort (Oogappels), Aimé Claeys (1985), Dahlia Pessemiers-Benamar (Assizes), Wim Willaert (Eigen Kweek) and Anemone Valcke (De Twaalf).
