An old acquaintance from the original series Suits will guest star in one episode of Suits LA.Suits LA follows Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a former New York federal prosecutor who has reinvented himself by representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. But when his firm reaches crisis point, he must embrace a role he has despised his entire career in order to survive.
Rick Hoffman (pictured), who played Louis Litt in the original Suits series, is set to reprise his role in a single episode of the NBC spinoff. He could also appear in more episodes if Suits LA is renewed for a second season.
Hoffman isn't the first original actor to return for the spinoff, as it was previously announced that Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter would also appear. Creator Aaron Korsh — who was behind both projects — said at the Los Angeles premiere last month that bringing back Macht "seemed like a perfect fit" because "Ted was a district attorney in New York, Harvey was a district attorney in New York."
As for having other Suits castmembers return, Korsh added that he “wanted to make sure it was an organic bringing people in, not just a parade of old characters.” However, “I would love to have them all on, [but] I don’t want to have them all on one after the other because I think it harms the original and the new show to do that. So we’re just going to see how it goes.”
While no other original Suits players have been confirmed to return, there are certainly a few fan favorites that some viewers would love to see again, including Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres.
Suits LA, which has aired three episodes so far, also stars Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg.
