The four-part Disney+ series Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes has generated a lot of reaction, both in the media and among the public. The series, written by Jeff Pope, reconstructs the tragic events of July 22, 2005, when innocent Brazilian electrician Jean Charles de Menezes was shot dead by London police after he was wrongly identified as a terror suspect.

After watching Suspect I am deeply moved by the way the show shows the human side of this tragedy. It is heartbreaking to see how a series of mistakes and miscommunications within the police department led to the death of an innocent man. The show succeeds in not only presenting the facts but also the emotional impact on the families and the wider community.

Jean Charles' mother, Maria de Menezes, has publicly supported the series and is urging everyone to watch it, hoping it will help raise awareness and empathy for her son and other victims of police brutality.
