Based on the popular series of novels by Sherryl Woods, Sweet Magnolias follows lifelong best friends Maddie (Joanna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) and Helen (Heather Headley), who were born and raised in Serenity, SC, a small southern town where everyone knows everyone and everyone knows their business.
Season two ended with several cliffhangers. Ronnie and Dana Sue were reunited, but the mystery woman Kathy could spell trouble for Dana Sue in the upcoming season. The season also ended with the deaths of Miss Frances (Cindy Karr) and Maddie, with Helen and Dana Sue mourning her passing.
After the brawl at Sullivan's, Maddie struggles with how best to help Cal (Justin Bruening) in the third season and tries to smooth her own emotional path. Helen faces tough decisions about the men in her life. And Dana Sue looks for a way to use Miss Frances' check to help the community without upsetting her family. The identity of the tire slasher sends shockwaves through Serenity, the recall causes unexpected consequences, and there are romantic surprises in every generation.
The third season of Sweet Magnolias can be streamed from Thursday, July 20.
