't Vrije Schaep is a sequel to the remake of the successful television series 't Schaep met de 5 pooten.

't Vrije Schaep is the name of Kootje's campsite in the dunes. Kootje sold his pub in the Jordaan and bought a campsite from the proceeds. The other characters such as Auntie Door and Opoe Withof from the brown cafe, among others, will spend their summer at the campsite. The story is set in the 1970s, making the series a leap in time. The storylines have been devised to use familiar songs from over 30 years ago. The series has a large number of guest roles. Some guest roles are played by Lineke Rijxman, Hans Kesting, Cas Jansen, Theu Boermans and Penney de Jager.
