In the new season of Ted Lasso, Ted, played by Jason Sudeikis, takes charge of a women's team in the second division of AFC Richmond. The story revolves around how he and his team learn to take risks and seize opportunities, even when they are uncertain or unpredictable.

This is immediately apparent in the teaser when Ted encounters a fan in an alley in Richmond who reacts skeptically to him coaching a women's team, setting the tone for the challenges and prejudices he will face.
Alongside Sudeikis, several familiar faces return, including Hannah Waddingham as club owner Rebecca Walton, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Brendan Hunt as coach Willis Beard, and Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins.
At the same time, the cast is expanded with new names like Tanya Reynolds, Faye Marsay, and others, indicating a fresh dynamic within the story.
The series was co-created by Sudeikis together with Bill Lawrence (Shrinking, Scrubs) and grew into a worldwide success over its first three seasons. Characters like Rebecca Walton developed from adversary to ally, while Roy Kent transitioned from player to assistant coach, adding to the emotional depth of the series.
Although there was earlier uncertainty about a continuation, the fourth season was eventually confirmed after discussions and options regarding the original cast.
Ted Lasso season four will be available from Wednesday, August 5th on Apple TV. New episodes will be released weekly from that date.
