Lucifer actor Tom Ellis cast in second season of Hulu's Tell Me Lies

Tom Ellis (Lucifer) joins season two of the Hulu Original series Tell Me Lies. Ellis has been cast in the regular role of Oliver, a professor at Baird College whose "tough love" attitude makes him an intimidating presence that is not appreciated by all students. He is married to Lucy's professor Marianne (Gabriella Pession, Crossing Lines), but when one of the main characters begins to seek his approval, his influence will have chaotic consequences.



It was recently announced that Ellis (pictured) will star in Second Wife with Emma Roberts, for Hulu and 20th TV, from showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer. He can also soon be seen in a leading role in Players, a romantic comedy from Netflix starring Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) and Damon Wayans Jr (Happy Endings). Also following is Hulu's limited adventure series Washington Black, based on Esi Edugyan's novel of the same name, starring steam-punk inventor Christopher "Titch" Wilde.

Tell Me Lies follows a tumultuous yet intoxicating relationship that unfolds over eight years, dragging everyone into its dangerous wake. A group of college friends have no idea that an addictive entanglement among them has the power to drag them all into a web of betrayal, sex and lies that will change their paths forever.

Oppenheimer is executive producer and showrunner. Emma Roberts, co-founder Karah Preiss and Matt Matruski executive produce under their own names Belletrist, and Laura Lewis and Stephanie Noonan exec produce for Rebelle Media. Shannon Gibson and Sam Schlaifer also executive produce. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Carola Lovering and Lovering is a consulting producer.
