That '90s Show will not continue at Netflix according to lead actor

Comedy series That '90s Show will not get a third season. This is what one of the actors of the series, Kurtwood Smith, said, who posted the news on Instagram on Thursday evening.
“I know you have been asking me when season 3 is coming, but I have tough news…Netflix will not be renewing,” he started his post. “I just want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to all of the fans everywhere who supported and watched the show. You have come up to me in random parts of the world when I’m traveling and reached out to me through social media and just been so wonderful.”

Smith played Red Forman in the series, reprising his role from the original series That 70's Show, alongside Debra Jo Rupp, who played his wife Kitty in both series.

“I’ve loved every minute of getting to bring Grandpa Red to life for you all,” Smith continued. “I’ve said it before, but it’s worth mentioning again…this show had so much heart behind it and the most wonderful cast, writers, directors, producers and crew an actor could hope to work with. Thanks for letting Red and Kitty, their grandkid, all their grandkids friends and neighbors, the original cast members of That 70’s Show and all of our wonderful guest cast members entertain you for two seasons.”

That '90s Show was set fifteen years after the first, with the daughter (Callie Haverda) of Eric (original lead Topher Grace) and Donna (original lead actress Laura Prepon) visiting her grandparents (the Formans) for the summer.

Other original guest stars who appeared in the '90s edition included Wilmer Valderrama, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. The cast also included Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi and Sam Morelos.

However, in his post, Smith indicated that he doesn't think the series is completely dead yet.

“To steal Red Forman’s words…we aren’t going to be dumbasses…we will shop the show, because good grandparents would try hard to get these kids graduated from high school,” he ended his post.

Series is a lot less fun than That 70's Show, but still nice to watch... Not a big loss if this is not renewed

Only the cameos were fun in season 1.
I also have to watch season 2. Whether that will happen I don't know. Maybe if I really have nothing better to do.

Another great example that they should stay away from old series that did well. No reboot or spinoff of That 70's Show is going to do better than the original.

Seen season 1. It's nice. But can't beat the original. As so often.
