Star Wars series The Acolyte gets Disney+ premiere date

Disney+ has revealed a spring premiere date for The Acolyte, Lucasfilm's new Star Wars series.
Created by Lesley Headland, The Acolyte is a mystery thriller that transports viewers to a galaxy full of shadowy secrets and emerging dark forces in the final days of the High Republic era.

A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they face are more sinister than they ever expected.

The Acolyte

The Acolyte will be released on the streaming service on Tuesday, June 4. The date was revealed yesterday on the Star Wars Verified X account, which also indicated that more news will be shared tomorrow.

The cast includes Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman and Carrie-Anne Moss.

Headland also serves as showrunner and produces alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson produce. Headland is also directing the series' pilot.
