Created by Lesley Headland, The Acolyte is a mystery thriller that transports viewers to a galaxy full of shadowy secrets and emerging dark forces in the waning days of the High Republic era. The trailer opens with Lee Jung-jae as a Jedi master teaching a group of young people as danger lurks. Amandla Stenberg stars as an unnamed warrior out to take down Jedis, with her first attempt targeting Carrie-Anne Moss. A galaxy-wide search is launched to take down the killer.

Other cast members include Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett and Dean-Charles Chapman.

The premiere date for The Acolyte is Tuesday, June 4. The series starts with two episodes and the remaining episodes of the eight-part season will be released weekly until July 16. The date was revealed the day before yesterday on the verified Star Wars X account, which also announced more news for today.

Headland also serves as showrunner and produces alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson produce. Headland also directs the first two episodes of the series.

I was pretty fed up with it after this trailer. And the rest of "Internet" too if you read the comments below the trailer. This "according to the makers, the most inclusive and diverse Star Wars project ever" does not seem to have been received positively yet. It is yet another exploitative project and seems to mainly serve to propagate Disney's woke religion. They have been doing quite well in this regard in recent years. I'll skip this and only follow The Mandalorian of the whole SW thing. For the rest, I seem to be "too old for this shit" now.
