I am really looking forward to this series. Just don't know what to expect. I'm not a fan of this kind of series (Middle Ages), but I want to give Sutter a chance :)

That doesn't disappoint me at all, to be honest: I like it. Was of course already under the spell of Moyer as vampire Bill in True Blood. The series gives me a bit of a Game of Thrones feeling, with a pinch of Vikings. Brutal, rude, bloody, emotional and a red wedding moment in episode 1. This series looks for the edge, and yes, I like that

Nice concept and well developed. I do have one point, why does the excuse black have to be included here. Everyone knows that a black man was a rarity even in the 1920s, let alone the Middle Ages.

As a fan of Sons of Anarchy I would have expected something heavier from Kurt Sutter but I find it interesting enough to keep following it. It's not a historical drama like the BBC or the History Channel (Vikings). Historically it is not quite right (a very African looking 'moor' in a 13th century Wales village, yes yes) and there are fantasy elements in it. Accents are not right either. Anyway, it was made by an American for an American audience. With that in mind, it is quite a nice series.
