After two seasons, it is over for ‘The Bridge (US)’. FX has pulled the plug, despite the story plans for a third and fourth season. ‘The Bridge (US)’ struggles with the ratings and that was reason enough for FX to not want to continue with a third season.
The series debuted in July 2013 with an average of 1.77 million viewers, the second season ended earlier this month with 1.11 million viewers which was a decrease of 37 percent. FX has just released a short statement regarding the cancellation: “NETWORK STATEMENT: FX will not be moving forward with a third season of ‘The Bridge (US)’.”
There are rumours that 'The Bridge (US)' will be shopped elsewhere. But as long as there is no clarity on ‘The Bridge (US)’, it is yet another series that is carried to the graveyard in television land without real closure. The second season ended with a semi-cliffhanger.
