©Deadline - Prime VideoAccording to Jenkins, it's not just about what happened, but especially about the 'why' behind these crucial moments. Therefore, this story is set up not only as a television season but also as a standalone cinematic event.
The season shows how different groups interpret these events: religious leaders see it as justice, the Romans as a way to maintain order, while his followers experience it as murder. Amidst these tensions, Jesus remains determined to follow his path towards the crucifixion, which ultimately marks a turning point in history.
Jonathan Roumie returns in the role of Jesus, along with an extensive cast including Shahar Isaac, Paras Patel, Elizabeth Tabish, and Luke Dimyan.
With season six, The Chosen reaches one of the most defining moments of the story, depicting the final hours of Jesus in an intense and grand manner.
The premiere of The Chosen season six is on Sunday, November 15, on Prime Video in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Latin America. In the Netherlands, the series can be viewed on KIJK and NPO Plus.
The launch begins with three episodes released simultaneously, followed by a new episode each week until December 6. Notably, the season finale, like the premiere episode of season seven, will be released not only via streaming but also in cinemas, with the finale of season six scheduled for the spring of 2027.
