Despite the coronavirus, production on the fourth season of The Crown wasn't halted. It was completed just in time. This fourth season is expected to release near the end of 2020. In the meanwhile, pre-production has already begun on the fifth and final season.
Lesley Manville (Love life (2020)) will portray Princess Margaret, the sister of Queen Elizabeth, in the final season. Margaret was previously portrayed by Vanessa Kirby (The Frankenstein Chronicles) and is currently portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter (Love, Nina). Since the third season, Queen Elizabeth is no longer portrayed by Claire Foy (Crossbones), but by Olivia Colman (Broadchurch). Imelda Staunton (Psychoville) will take over from Colman in the final season.
