As usual, finances are said to play a role in the talks, with Queen Latifah rumored to have agreed to concessions that could increase the show's chances of renewal.
A reimagining of the classic series, The Equalizer stars Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills as a former CIA agent to help those who have nowhere else to turn.
Welliver played Hudson Reed, a former top CIA agent with a dark secret who connects with Robyn through an old mentor. Feliz played Samantha Reed, trained by her father to be a weapons expert, skilled martial artist and a true chameleon, but hiding a mysterious past.
A new series titled Ballard is in development and will focus on Detective Renée Ballard, played by Maggie Q. The series is based on the books by Michael Connelly and will focus on solving cold cases. Although it has not yet been confirmed, it is possible that Harry Bosch will play a role in this new series, given the connection of the characters in the books.
