The end is in sight for the science fiction series The Expanse, which originally premiered on Syfy in 2015. Later, that series was taken over by Amazon, which has just now renewed it with a sixth season. This season will also be the final season of the series. It is not yet known when it is scheduled to premiere. The renewal of The Expanse comes a couple of weeks before the premiere of the fifth season.
“We’re very happy we can give the incredibly loyal and passionate fans of The Expanse the satisfying conclusion to the series that they deserve,” Vernon Sanders, co-head of television at Amazon Studios, said in a press release. There's currently no trailer for the sixth season, but Amazon did release a trailer for the fifth season back in October. You can watch it, down below.
The Expanse is based on the books by James S.A. Corey's. The story takes place approximately two hundred years into the future and revolves around the case of a missing woman. The case results in the working together of a hardened detective and a morally wrong ship's captain in a race through the galaxy. They will eventually unravel the biggest conspiracy theory in the history of mankind.
