The four-part documentary series 'The Girlfriend Experience' offers an intimate insight into the lives of escorts who offer more than just sex. They also create the illusion of a real connection. The series shows how these women balance between their dual role as service provider and so-called lover. Thanks to the trust that a female crew managed to build, an open and personal portrait of a generally closed world is created.
