The Good Doctor renewed with its fifth season

A fifth season of The Good Doctor is on the way. ABC has renewed the medical drama series with another season.

For the fifth season, Freddie Highmore (Bates Motel) will return to portray Dr Shaun Murphy. This is the first scripted series to be renewed by ABC during this television season.

Last November, the fourth season premiered and the final episode will air later this month. It has not yet been revealed when the fifth season is set to release. The Good Doctor revolves around Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with Savant syndrome. He has been hired at the pediatric department of a prestigious hospital.
