Hulu renews The Great with its second season

Elle Fanning has revealed that there's going to be a second season of The Great.

Elle Fanning - the lead actress of the series - has revealed that The Great has been renewed with its second season. Recently, the series was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Fanning posted a picture on her Instagram that revealed this. This picture shows that she is pregnant. It has a double meaning. Fanning's character becomes both mother of a child and mother of Russia in the second season.

The Great is a dramatised historical costume drama. There's more drama than historical facts. The Great revolves around Catherine the Great. She becomes one of the longest-ruling women leaders in Russia after starting as an outcast. In the first season, the story mainly shows the younger years of Catherine. She is married off and because of that, she ends up in a dangerous and depraved world. She wants to leave this world as soon as possible. All it requires is 'just' the murder of her husband and acquiring the power of the military, the court and the church.
