Trailer and premiere date Hulu's The Great

Hulu has announced a release date for The Great. This announcement was accompanied by a trailer.

The Great is a satirical dramedy about the rise of Catherina the Great, who started as an outsider but eventually grew into the longest-ruling female in Russian history. The cast will consist of Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Sacha Dhawan, Sebastian de Souza, Bayo Gbadamosi and Belinda Bromilow. The Great will release on Hulu on the 15th of May.

The Great is created by Tony McNamara. In the first season, we see the idealistic, romantic Catharina as she travels to Russia for an arranged marriage with her cousin, Emperor Peter. Instead of love and sunshine, she finds herself in a dangerous, putrid world, which is something she wants to change. The only thing she has to do is kill her husband, defeat the church, confuse the military and cast the court of justice aside.
