The photos don't give much away about the plot, but that's to be expected since production on season two has only just begun. So far, details remain scarce.
In Pascal's photo, Joel is standing outside at night with someone talking with his back to the camera. In the next photo it appears to be daytime, but Ellie sneaks into a building with her gun at the ready in case something goes wrong. The Last of Us is based on the Naughty Dog video game and takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed.
Joel, played by Pascal, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Ramsey), a fourteen-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job quickly becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both have to cross the US and rely on each other for survival.
The Last of Us was written and produced by Naughty Dog's Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.
The series is co-produced with Sony Pictures Television and is also produced by Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O'Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan and Evan Wells.
