The Lincoln Lawyer - Season 4
"There is no client as scary as an innocent man." That's a quote from the father of lawyer Mickey Haller. This quote is as relevant as ever in the fourth season of The Lincoln Lawyer."There is no client as scary as an innocent man."
After the third season appeared in October 2024, we had to wait a bit, but in February 2026, we could finally see how the arrest of lawyer Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, From Dusk to Dawn: The Series) would turn out. He is detained after celebrating his successful lawsuit, alcohol-free, and wanting to drive home in Los Angeles.
The ten episodes are based on the sixth book, The Law of Innocence, by Michael Connelly. In it, Mickey Haller's philosophy is also outlined. This is the 'tree of defense,' a metaphor to indicate how he approaches his cases in court.
With Haller in prison, it also means his practice is under great pressure. His (second) ex-wife Lorna (Becki Newton, Divorce) has since obtained her papers as a lawyer, but she faces fleeing clients, image damage, and declining income.
It also affects the personal life of Mickey Haller. His young daughter Hayley (Krista Warner) has to deal with the consequences of her father's arrest: bullying from her fellow students and online hate messages.
The loyal staff, assistant Izzy Letts (Jazz Raycole, My Wife and Kids) and detective Cisco (Angus Sampson, Fargo) with his impressive network, must meanwhile navigate between properly handling the drying-up portfolio of cases and helping Mickey Haller in his defense.

It's essential that old friends like David 'Legal' Siegel Elliot Gould (most recently seen in Monster), his mentor and sounding board, and his first ex-wife Maggie McPherson (Neve Campbell), public prosecutor in San Diego, come to his aid.
They have to face off against public prosecutor Dana 'Death Row' Berg (Constance Zimmer, Entourage), a ruthless prosecutor who harbors a great dislike for Haller. Judge Lionel Stone (Scott Lawrence, JAG) is the independent judge who must adjudicate this complicated case.
I found this a particularly thrilling season. Especially because I grew attached to Haller, Cisco, Izzy, and Lorna in the first three seasons. This season, I followed the developments with bated breath in many episodes. Mickey Haller and his loved ones are truly put to the test in this fourth season. There are also a few new characters introduced, but they mainly (still) play a role in the background.I found this season particularly thrilling.
The season ends, as usual, with a cliffhanger. It's not one that will keep us awake for weeks, but nonetheless, it's a conclusion that leaves us anticipating what's next. The fifth season has already been confirmed, and if you, as a viewer, want to know what that is, then the seventh book by Connelly should be read: Resurrection Walk from 2023.
