More cast members revealed for Lord of the Rings series

Amazon has revealed more about the cast of the upcoming The Lord of the Rings series. Twenty names have been revealed.

The long-expected The Lord of the Rings series is getting closer. Earlier this year, Amazon revealed that Robert Aramayo (Game of Thrones) and Markella Kavenagh (The Gloaming) will portray a role in the series. Amazon has now revealed another twenty names.

Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Power), Maxim Baldry (Years and Years), Ian Blackburn, Kip Chapman (Top of the Lake), Anthony Crum (The Wilds), Maxine Cunliffe, Trystan Gravelle (The Aliens), Sir Lenny Henry (Broadchurch), Thusitha Jayasundera (Humans), Fabian McCallum (You, Me and the Apocalypse), Simon Merrells (Knightfall), Geoff Morrell (The Code), Peter Mullan (Ozark), Lloyd Owen (Cleaning Up), Augustus Prew (The Morning Show), Peter Tait (The Brokenwood Mysteries), Alex Tarrant (Mean Mums), Leon Wadham (The Bad Seed), Benjamin Walker (Jessica Jones) and Sara Zwangobani (Home and Away) will all be featured in the upcoming fantasy epic.

It has been known for quite some time that Amazon has been working on a series adaptation of The Lord of the Rings. Last year, it was already renewed with a second season. Currently, production on the first season is still ongoing in New Zealand, and a premiere date has not yet been announced.
