Wayne Che Yip to direct The Lord of the Rings episodes

Director Wayne Che Yip (Hunters (2020)) will direct four episodes of The Lords of the Rings series. Next to that, he will serve as executive producer.

The recording process of The Lord of the Rings has already started. Right now, production is underway in New-Zealand. Director Wayne Che Yip (Hunters (2020)) will soon travel to the country. Maybe he has already arrived. Yip will direct four episodes of the long-expected Amazon series. J.A. Bayona (Penny Dreadful) has directed the first two episodes.

The series takes place during the Second Age. This means that in between the movie and the series, there will be a 3000-year time difference. A large portion of the cast was revealed last year. Even though the series is set to premiere this year, we can already look forward to a second season. Back in 2019, the second season was already announced by the creators.
