Amazon Prime Video is working on the expensive fantasy series The Lord of the Rings. It is expected to become one of the most expensive television series ever. Two seasons have already been announced.
The highly anticipated The Lord of the Rings series, based on the fantasy novels of J.R.R. Tolkien, is set in the Second Age. That means that there is a 3000 year time difference between the series and the beginning of The Lord of the Rings movie. Amazon has announced which actors can be seen in the series. Robert Aramayo from Game of Thrones plays Beldor and the young Australian Markella Kavenagh (The Gloaming) is cast in the role of Tyra.

Will Poulter (The Fades) - previously mentioned as a possible cast member - is not featured in the series. Amazon has not yet announced when the series The Lord of the Rings will be available.
