The second season of The Mandalorian is set to premiere in October. Even though it'll take a while before we've even started watching the second season, The Mandalorian has already begun pre-production on its third season.
The famous Disney+ series is one of the few series that managed to finish production just before the corona-crisis started. In March, production on the second season was completed. Sources within Disney have now confirmed that preparation for the third season has already been going on for quite a while. Creator Jon Favreau has begun writing for the third season, and various creative people have started developing multiple settings. As soon as the corona-crisis has passed, production can begin.
The show takes place after the fall of the Galactic Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, so between the Star Wars films Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The show revolves around a lonely bounty hunter in the outer edges of the star system. The titular character is portrayed by Pedro Pascal (Narcos).
