British series The Marlow Murder Club renewed for third season

The Marlow Murder Club isn't going away anytime soon. The Masterpiece series has been renewed for a third season of six episodes.
The popular British mystery series The Marlow Murder Club returns for a second season this year on MASTERPIECE on PBS, and has already been renewed for a third season before the new episodes have even aired. Based on the novels by Robert Thorogood (Death in Paradise), the series has captivated audiences around the world with its mix of classic detective intrigue, eccentric characters and British charm.

The series stars Samantha Bond as headstrong retired archaeologist Judith Potts, Jo Martin as down-to-earth dog walker Suzie Harris, Cara Horgan as dutiful vicar's wife Becks Starling, Natalie Dew as Detective Tanika Malik, Holli Dempsey as Detective Alice Hackett, Phill Langhorne as Detective Brendan Perry and Tijan Sarr as Detective Jason Kennedy.

In season three, PBS confirms, the amateur detectives will continue to work with now-promoted Detective Malik. The ladies will once again use their unorthodox but effective methods to solve a series of high-profile murders in and around the town of Marlow.

Viewers can expect the sudden death of the "nicest guy in Marlow," none other than the beloved mayor, a celebrity chef is murdered at his cookbook launch in front of half the town, and a college reunion at a mysterious mansion leads to a new case in which Becks himself is among the suspects, a development that puts the trio's position as citizen advisors at stake.

Susanne Simpson, executive producer of MASTERPIECE, expressed her enthusiasm for the series' success:

“It’s a thrill to bring a third season of The Marlow Murder Club to our US audience. I know our viewers are looking forward to more of the heart and humor that makes this series so special.”

The start date for season three will be announced at a later date, but fans can look forward to more British murder mysteries with heart, humour and brains from Sunday, August 24, when season two kicks off.
