Dan (Compston) and Emily (Rundle) lead a happy life just outside of Glasgow. The two would love to have a baby, but they cannot get pregnant. They happen to meet eighteen year old Kayla (Mirren Mack, Sex Education), she appears to be willing to bear a child for the couple. As the series progresses you wonder if the meeting between Kayla and the couple was really so coincidental.
The Nest was conceived and written by Nicole Taylor (Three Girls). Shirley Henderson (Happy Valley), Katie Leung (Strangers), David Hayman (Hatton Garden), Fiona Bell (Shetland), James Harkness (The Victim) and Bailey Patrick (London Kills) will also be part of the cast. It is not yet known when the new series is set to premiere.
