Netflix reveals start date and action-packed teaser for The Night Agent season two

Gabriel Basso returns as Peter Sutherland in The Night Agent for season two. By the time season two kicks off, fans will have waited almost two years for new episodes. However, they can rejoice in the fact that the series - created, directed and produced by Shawn Ryan - was renewed for a third season early last month. As previously reported, season three will begin filming in Istanbul at the end of this year, followed by filming in New York in 2025.



Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, the first season of The Night Agent follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland who works in the basement of the White House and mans a phone that never rings - until the night it does ring, leaving him ends up in a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.

In the season one finale, Peter departed D.C. on a private jet on his first mission as a Night Action spy. Season two continues as he blasts through the streets of an Asian city before returning first season actress Luciane Buchanan and Amanda Warren are seen against the New York skyline in subsequent episodes.

Warren will play Catherine Weaver, a veteran of the top-secret Night Action research program, who trains and oversees several Night Agents, including Peter. Catherine is smart, private and determined. She defends her agents tooth and nail, but finds it difficult to earn Peter's trust as he struggles with his treacherous experiences from the first season.

In addition to Warren, new cast members include Berto Colon, Louis Herthum, Arienne Mandi, Brittany Snow and Teddy Sears.

Colon plays Solomon, a former Marine who becomes the right-hand man of a powerful businessman; Herthum stars as Jacob Monroe, an international businessman with powerful global connections that he uses to obtain valuable information; Mandi is Noor, an assistant in the Iranian mission to the United Nations in New York who wants to use her access to top secret information to get a better life for her and her family; Snow plays Alice, Peter's partner and mentor on his first assignment in Night Action, and Sears is Warren, a high-ranking intelligence officer who becomes the subject of a Night Action investigation.

In previous interviews, Ryan has talked about how each season will be a standalone story, opening the door to new plot lines and characters with each new round.

Marwan Kenzari, Elise Kibler and Dikran Tulaine will guest star in season two. The ten new episodes for season two were shot primarily in New York City with additional filming in Thailand and Washington, D.C.

The Night Agent season two can be seen on Netflix from Thursday, January 23, 2025.
