Season three looks set to introduce the most buzzed-about new cast, with three new series regulars who have led their own shows: David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison and Stephen Moyer (pictured left to right).
They join fellow series regulars Genesis Rodriguez, whose casting was revealed last month, and child actor Callum Vinson. Suraj Sharma has also been tapped as a recurring actor.
As usual, no details about the characters have been revealed. Sources say Lyons will play a former spy lured out of retirement, Morrison will play the First Lady, Moyer will play a top assassin and Rodriguez will play a reporter.
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is created by Shawn Ryan, who also serves as showrunner. The series centers on Peter Sutherland (Basso), a low-level FBI agent whose efforts to save the president in season one earn him a chance to become Night Agent in season two. But working in the secretive organization of Night Action isn’t easy. It brings Peter into a world where danger threatens everywhere and trust is scarce.
Australian actor Lyons previously appeared as Dr. Simon Brenner in the NBC series ER and as General Sebastian Monroe in the NBC post-apocalyptic series Revolution. He also starred in the Netflix limited series Seven Seconds and Apple TV+'s Truth Be Told (2019). He can soon be seen opposite Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys in the Netflix series The Beast in Me.
Morrison is known for her roles as Dr. Allison Cameron in the Fox series House M.D., Emma Swan in ABC series Once Upon a Time, Zoey Person in the CBS comedy series How I Met Your Mother and Cassidy Sharp in NBC series This Is Us. She recently appeared on an episode of Tracker starring This Is Us co-star Justin Hartley. Morrison also directed an episode for this series.
True Blood actor Moyer just wrapped playing Jolyon Senior in The Forsyte Saga season three for PBS Masterpiece. He starred as Reed Strucker in the Fox superhero series The Gifted. He was most recently seen in Paramount+'s Sexy Beast and the pilot episode of CBS' Elsbeth starring True Blood co-star Carrie Preston.
