The Night Agent, starring Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland, began production in Los Angeles yesterday and will definitively conclude the story of this character.

The story follows Sutherland, who started as a relatively inconspicuous FBI agent but gradually undertakes increasingly dangerous missions within the secret counterintelligence unit Night Action. In the final season, he faces his ultimate assignment, culminating his journey from a low-ranking employee to a crucial player in national security.
Creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan has stated that he has been working towards a powerful and satisfying ending since the series' initial success. He emphasizes that he, along with partners such as Sony Pictures Television, has been given the opportunity to conclude the story thoughtfully, aiming to deliver a final season that fans will not forget.
The series has been a major success for Netflix throughout its run. Season three, which was released in February, remained in the global top 10 of Netflix as well as in the American streaming rankings of Nielsen for four weeks, peaking in the second week.
Earlier seasons performed even stronger: season one remained in the global top 10 for an impressive 17 weeks, and season two lasted six weeks globally and five weeks in the Nielsen charts.
At the end of season three, Peter was informed by his supervisor, FBI Deputy Director Mosley (played by Albert Jones), that he would be getting a partner, which serves as a significant setup for the final season.
The series is based on the book by Matthew Quirk and is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with an extensive team of executive producers involved in its creation. Everything indicates that the fourth season is intended as a grand and definitive conclusion to one of Netflix's most popular thriller series.
