Lead role for Christopher Walken in new BBC series The Offenders

Christopher Walken will portray one of the lead characters in a new series from BBC and Amazon. The name of the series is The Offenders.

This will be Christopher Walken's first lead role in a series that is made for British television. The Offenders will be a six-part series from Stephen Merchant and Elgin James. Production has recently resumed in the United Kingdom. Earlier this year, production was halted due to the corona countermeasures.

The series follows seven strangers - The Offenders - who come from various layers of the population. As they start getting involved in each other's lives, they also get involved with a dangerous gang. Walken portrays Frank, a villain who tries to reach out to his family. Next to Walken, Merchant will also portray a character in the series. Other cast members include Rhianne Barreto (Hanna), Gamba Cole (Hanna), Darren Boyd (Killing Eve), Clare Perkins (EastEnders) and Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark).
