Amazon brings Agatha Christie's The Pale Horse

Amazon Prime Video and the BBC will soon release the two-part series Agatha Christie's The Pale Horse.

Actor Rufus Sewell (The Man in the High Castle) has the lead role in the series, based on the book by novelist Agatha Christie. Sarah Phelps has turned the 1961 novel into a scenario for the series and serves as executive producer.

When a murder investigation is started into the death of a young woman, a mysterious list of names is discovered in her shoe, which not only searches for the killer, but also investigates the list of names. One of those mentioned is Mark Easterbrook (Rufus Sewell). He starts an investigation into how and why his name appeared on the list; an investigation that leads him to The Pale Horse - the peculiar house in the pretty village of Much Deeping where witches appear to reside.

Past and present clash as Mark discovers the ties between his deceased first wife, Delphine (Georgina Campbell) and the witches. As more people on the list are found dead, Mark begins to fear for his own life and common sense. Despite Mark's skepticism about the paranormal, he cannot help but continue to look actively at the increasingly stranger and extraordinary things that happen around him. Is this also the work of the witches of The Pale Horse and does this mean that he is the next on their list? Or can he find a rational explanation and identify the murderer before it's too late?

Agatha Christie's The Pale Horse can be seen at Amazon Prime Video in the US starting on March 13. The series - with two 60-minute episodes - will also be shown by the BBC on February 9, which has co-financed the project with Amazon.
