I haven't seen many Indian films and series. It's usually not really for me. But I'm glad I started watching this miniseries. Already with the first episode I got a huge "Chernobyl vibe". This is also about a huge disaster. Although not a nuclear disaster, but a toxic disaster on an enormous scale that cost more than 15,000 lives in 1984. The series shows the run-up to the disaster. All safety measures that were bypassed or broken and the indifference of management and staff about them. Until the inevitable happens and the city of Bhopal is flooded with very deadly gas. The series focuses on the railway people who ensured that many people could get away and more deaths were prevented. Of course it is a dramatization and not everything happened exactly as it is shown here, but it is certain that it happened. And it is also certain that those responsible have remained largely unscathed. That's the bitter aftertaste you have after watching this series. All in all, not a historical documentary but a well-written and filmed drama that is firmly rooted in true events. Well worth it!
