Uzo Aduba tries to solve a murder at the White House in teaser for The Residence

In the first teaser, Aduba's Cordelia Cupp works to solve the case of a murdered White House head waiter, who is discovered during a state dinner.
The first teaser for Netflix's series The Residence stars Uzo Aduba as detective Cordelia Cupp as she tries to solve the case of the dead body discovered on the third floor of the White House.

"132 rooms. 157 suspects. 1 body," the series warns.

In the screwball whodunnit, a host of possible suspects are questioned about the body found at a state dinner. But will they outsmart Cordelia, described in the teaser as the world's best detective?

"Mr. President. This house should be treated like a crime scene," Aduba warns in the teaser. Throughout the teaser, it's clear that chaos is expected as hidden secrets, simmering dangers and political tensions complicate matters with a staff member or guest as the possible perpetrator.

"There's no place like this. It's bigger than you," Aduba's Cordelia is told, to which she says, "You mean the house is literally bigger than me? Because that seems obvious to me."

The eight-episode series from Shondaland and former Scandal writer and producer Paul William Davies also stars Randall Park, Giancarlo Esposito, Susan Kelechi Watson, Jane Curtin, Jason Lee, Ken Marino, Al Mitchell and Edwina Findley Dickerson.

The Residence premieres on Netflix on Thursday, March 20. Watch the teaser below.
