The Residence was a murder mystery set in the White House, starring Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp, the “world’s greatest detective.” The series was spun off from Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland and was created and directed by Paul William Davies (Scandal).
The original intention was for the series to continue as an anthology, with Cupp solving a new case each season. The first (and now only) season's ensemble also included Randall Park, Giancarlo Esposito, Susan Kelechi Watson, Edwina Findley Dickerson, Bronson Pinchot, Mary Wiseman, Julieth Restrepo, Al Mitchell, Mel Rodriguez, Ken Marino, Jason Lee, and Jane Curtin.
During its first four weeks in the global Netflix Top 10, The Residence generated 177.4 million viewing hours, which equates to approximately 22.9 million full season views. In the United States, Nielsen recorded 83.1 million viewing hours during the same period (approximately 47 percent of the global total), with the series remaining in the Nielsen rankings for two additional weeks, adding another 15.55 million hours.

Pulse was Netflix’s first attempt at a medical drama series. In four weeks, the series received 20.2 million global views and 162.1 million total hours watched. Pulse’s release coincided with the growing success of HBO Max’s hospital drama The Pitt, which had its first season finale shortly after Pulse’s premiere.
In the US, Pulse spent only two weeks on the Nielsen chart. The cast included Willa Fitzgerald, Colin Woodell, Justina Machado, Jack Bannon, Jessie T. Usher, Jessy Yates, Chelsea Muirhead, Daniela Nieves, Nestor Carbonell, Jessica Rothe, Santiago Segura, Ash Santos and Arturo del Puerto. The series was created by Zoe Robyn, who served as co-showrunner with Carlton Cuse.
In addition to the cancellation of these two series, it was also announced that a third Netflix series, No Good Deed, has been put on hold after its first season in December 2024. There is still a possibility that this dark comedy series from Liz Feldman (Dead to Me) will return as an anthology, but there are currently no concrete plans for that.
