The Right Stuff was announced last February. The series will be the first Disney+ original that was made by National Geographic. The series, which stars Patrick J. Adams (Suits) and Jake McDorman (Limitless), will premiere on Disney+ next fall.
Patrick J. Adams will portray a respected test pilot and dedicated family man John Glenn. Jake McDorman will portray lieutenant commander Alan Shepard, one of the better test pilots. Next to that, the cast will further consist of Colin O'Donoghue (Once Upon a Time), Aaron Staton (Narcos: Mexico) and Michael Trotter (Underground).
The series will consist of eight episodes. The Right Stuff is an adaptation of the book with the same name from Tom Wolfe from 1979. It'll revolve around the lives of ambitious astronauts and their families. They become famous due to a competition that could either kill or immortalize them. More seasons will revolve around the Apollo Space Program, the landing on the moon and various other missions.
