📺 The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives – juicy drama with a religious twist

If reality TV is your guilty pleasure, then you absolutely cannot miss The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. This series takes you into the lives of a group of women from Utah, all of whom have a Mormon background, but certainly do not live typical lives. What starts as a glimpse into a close-knit community quickly grows into a rollercoaster of drama, secrets, relationship problems and remarkable choices.

From pregnancies and marital problems to ketamine therapy and “soft swinging” – it’s a feast for the eyes. But what makes it really compelling is that you also see their struggle between personal freedom and religious traditions. It sometimes feels like a clash between who they ‘should’ be according to the outside world and who they really want to be.

I personally loved watching it. It's exactly the kind of series where after one episode you think: "Okay, one more then..." - and before you know it you're in the middle of all the intrigue. The emotional conversations, the arguments, but also the sincere friendships make it more than just sensational TV.

Pros:
✔️ The dynamics between the women – honest, intense and sometimes downright chaotic
✔️ Accessible episodes with surprising themes
✔️ A unique look at faith versus freedom

Negative point:
➖ Some scenes feel a bit over the top or 'contrived' – but that's part of the genre

My verdict:
★★★★☆ (4/5) – A nice mix of drama, reality and suspense.

I really hope there will be a third season. If you like Selling Sunset, Sister Wives or Real Housewives, you're in the right place.
