She tasks him with finding his great-uncle Arthur Spiderwick's field guide to magical creatures. This is how Jared discovers a magical world full of magical creatures. But to protect it, he must face the murderous ogre Mulgarath.
The new adaptation of the book series of the same name by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black can be seen in its entirety on Streamz from Thursday, June 6.
After their parents' divorce, Jared (Lyon Daniels), his twin brother Simon (Noah Cottrell) and their older sister Mallory (Mychala Lee) move with their mother (Joy Bryant) to the dilapidated mansion of their great-grandfather Arthur Spiderwick (Albert Jones). The move is not easy and certainly not for Jared who has behavioral problems and is in therapy with Dr. Dorian Brauer (Christian Slater).
After Simon's mice go missing, Jared discovers that a creature named Thimbletack (Jack Dylan Grazer) is wreaking havoc in the house. To his astonishment, the others cannot see him. Jared learns that a murderous ogre, Mulgarath, is the source of all the village's misery and that the devilish monster is after his great-grandfather's magical field guide.
The Grace family stars Joy Bryant as Helen Grace, Lyon Daniels as Jared Grace, Noah Cottrell as Simon Grace, Mychala Lee as Mallory Grace and Charlayne Woodard as their Aunt Lucinda.
We also see Alyvia Alyn Lind as Calliope, Momona Tamada as Emiko Noizumi, Mellany Barros as Bree Kent, and Jack Dylan Grazer lends his voice to the mythical figure Thimbletack.
The series was produced by the original authors of the book series Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black.
