Lead actor leaves The Blacklist

One of the lead actors of The Blacklist will leave after eight seasons. Earlier this year, the series was renewed with its ninth season. Megan Boone (Law & Order: Los Angeles) will leave The Blacklist. Alongside James Spader (The Office), she was part of the main cast. By now, a ninth season has been announced, which will no longer feature Boone. The final episode of the eighth season will also see the final appearance of Boone.

Boone portrayed Elizbeth Keen, a starting FBI agent who eventually takes a different path in her life. The creators knew well before the renewal that Boone was going to leave. This ensured that her character has been given a proper conclusion. Apparently, the decision for Boone to leave was mutual.

The Blacklist revolves around the world's most wanted criminal. He turns himself in and offers to snitch on everyone else who he has ever worked with. His only condition is that he gets to work alongside a new FBI agent to help bring the criminals in.
