De laatste tijd ligt de focus op de families Forrester, Logan en Spencer. De soap speelt zich af in Californië, in Los Angeles, en wordt in ongeveer 130 landen uitgezonden. In tegenstelling tot de meeste andere Amerikaanse soaps duurt deze inclusief reclame geen uur, maar een half uur, waardoor het aantal acteurs ook niet zo groot is als bij andere soaps.
