The Flash (2014) - Season 1-8 (DVD)

This DVD box of The Flash (2014) is a neatly presented box containing the first eight seasons of this series.
For 184 episodes, Grant Gustin played the role of Barry Allen, better known to series fans as the fastest man in the world; The Flash. However, this DVD box only contains 171 episodes. The ninth season, which recently aired and concluded the series, is not yet included in this collector's box. Hopefully, they will later release the last season separately on a silver disc and not immediately in a box with all seasons.

Fans of the first seasons of The Flash (2014), which were shown on a regular television channel, will be happy with this box. If I'm correct, we could just watch this series through the second season. The series then disappeared from FOX's broadcast schedule in the Netherlands and Belgium and the fan was assigned to stream the sequel.

However, anyone who goes through life without streaming services can indulge themselves with this box set of The Flash (2014). In addition to the eight seasons that you will find here, you will see many extras from the universe of The Flash (2014) with each season.

The Flash is an everyday hero from the DC stable who helps to fight crime using his gift. Just like all other superheroes from the same stable, The Flash also regularly comes into contact with them in so-called crossover episodes. The makers can also go in a lot of directions with this man who is faster than light. This way they can let him experience adventures in the past as well as in the future.

Yet there is also a common thread in the series that causes some upheavals, especially in the first seasons. Allen carries with him a traumatic experience from his youth. His mother was murdered and his father was convicted for this. That trauma contributes to his development into the man he has become.

With a total of forty discs, there is also a lot of room for extras with those eight seasons. Of course, you have a number of deleted scenes every season. In addition, each season also has its specific extras that provide an explanation of what happened that season. For example, season two includes a special about the crossover with Arrow and there is a similar item for season three in which even more superheroes are represented.

What is striking is that as the seasons progress, the extras decrease in number and also become less interesting. Extra commentary on an episode is nice, but I think it is only really interesting for the die-hard fan. All in all, a neatly presented box containing the first eight seasons of this series.
