The funny series gets a second season from Fox. This is an early renewal, because the first season is still in full swing. The Last Man on Earth, besides Gotham and Empire, will be the third freshman series from Fox which gets a sequel!
Fox previously announced that Gotham and Empire will get a second season. Empire, a unique family drama centred around a hip-hop empire, was extended after two episodes. Gotham, a real Batman prequel, will also be back at Fox.
The President of Fox Entertainment is pleased with the renewal of The Last Man on Earth: “We knew we had something special with The Last Man on Earth. It’s one of those rare shows that continues to add depth and dimension to its unique premise, week after week.”
The Last Man on Earth is about Phil Miller (Will Forte), also the creator of the series, who thinks he is the last man on earth. When he decides to end his life, suddenly Carol (Kristen Schaal) emerges. Together they plan to ensure the future of humanity. The two can do whatever they want, which obviously leads to some hilarious moments.
